Performing Arts

St. Paul students have an amazing Theatre Program.  Started 8 years ago, the St. Paul Theatre Program is one of the best in Northeast Ohio.  Each year, students put on two complete productions.  The shows are produced and choreographed by Lisa Knight and Taylor Scott, professional directors in our community.

Little Troupe - Grades 1 to 4 - held in the fall.  Last year, the students amazed us in 101 Dalmations and this year, put a wonderful performance of Willy Wonka!  The show is held on our school stage.  Many hands are involved - sets, costumes and props.

Theatre Group - Grades 3-8 - held in the spring.

Past productions include:  Little Mermaid Jr., Seussical Jr., Annie Jr., Mary Poppins Jr., Willy Wonka Kids, and Alladin Kids.  This year, we are thrilled to be performing The Lion King Jr. on May 17th and 18th, 2019 at Umstaad Hall (McKinley High School).

Additional Opportunites through Holy Cross Catholic Schools:

At Holy Cross Catholic Schools we offer a variety of different art programs, including art classes in each school, band, drama, music, and specialty art programs.

We offer various music and theatre options for your child to participate in, in order to promote their creativity! In addition to the visual art opportunities presented in our school, students also have the chance to participate in system-wide art initiatives and programs through Holy Cross Catholic Schools and its community partners.

Music

Our school offers a variety of musical outlets for student exploration. Some of these musical expressions include band, children’s choirs, music theory classes, school show choirs, and partnerships with the Canton Symphony which allows our students to attend the Young Peoples Concert Series. Students are also encouraged to schools to play in school and parish music ministries. In addition, since St. Paul is a Holy Cross Catholic School, students in grades 4-8, can participate in the Holy Cross Catholic Schools Show Choir.

Theater

St. Paul students participate in The Drama Club of Holy Cross Catholic Schools which provides students with multiple opportunities for theatrical expression including Fall After-School Drama Club, Spring Musical Workshop on Saturdays and Summer Drama Camp. Students in these programs are immersed into the world of drama, learning about character creation, storytelling, musical theatre-style singing, costume and prop creation and working together as a performing ensemble! Past performances include "Broadway Rocks!," "Sleeping Beauty Kids," "Spring into Drama," and "There's No Place Like Oz."
